We stumbled upon this restaurant after trying to find a few places to eat with our daughter (no under 18 in pubs after 8:30). Talk about a pleasant surprise! Great wine, handmade pasta and friendly staff. If you find yourself near angel station, are craving Italian or need a delicious dinner with kids, this an excellent choice. I'm a foodie and hard to please. ;)

This is definitely some of the best pizza I have EVER had, the cheese was stringy and delicious and everyone in my party loved the crust, it was absolutely amazing, I didn't try the pasta or lasagna, but my family did, and they said it was amazing as-well. The service was amazing here, extremely kind and respectful, and the ambiance of this place is just top-tier. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

I have done a lot of traveling and I love Italian food. This is the best I've ever had. I ordered the bruschetta appetizer and the spaghetti alla carbonara and can't be more pleased with the food and service. The prices are great too!

One of the greatest finds on our trip. This little family owned spot was two blocks from our Doubletree hotel and was highly recommended by our Gate1 tour director. Having been traveling for 9-days and eating some rather exotic and wonderful food we craved a solid bowl of pasta. My Bolognese was fantastic and the salad with Burrata was to die for. One of our companions asked for some special preparation due to dietary needs and the owner complied w/o blinking an eye. We watched the pizza's coming out and they were mouthwatering...

Well Philipo at the Double Tree recommended this place for dinner - well he is Italian! And its good - nice simple meal, good service, friendly, welcoming...only one gripe - the dessert menu is separate so when you are trying to judge , pace & balance your meal you don't know how...they said well its separate on purpose...so ok we had a look...not interesting, some pre-bought stuff...so stick with the starters & mains, they're good...as was the little half bottle of wine - check the photo Yes, if that way again would return

We went to Mangiabene off of a recommendation from our hotel staff. I am glad we took her advise! Atmosphere: Tiny, and cozy. Romantic. Fine dining. Staff/Service: The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate special requests. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the majority of the time, so our food did not take long to arrive. Our water glasses stayed full. No complaints. Food: Very fresh, home-made food. It seemed like their was actually passion put into our meals. My boyfriend had Pollo alla Milanese, breaded chicken with pasta in tomato sauce and thought it was quite tasty. His chicken was more chicken than breading if you know what I mean. The spaghetti noodles weren't homemade, but he thinks the sauce, which was very good, may have been. I had chicken marsala with potatoes and green beans. The chicken was tender and juicy, smothered in a light garlicky sauce with mushrooms and spinach. The potatoes were seasoned nicely. The green beans were definitely fresh, not canned or frozen and had some light oil and salt/pepper on them. The portions were very generous. We couldn't finish it all! Cost: Very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes! This restaurant is very much one of those "holes in the wall" that takes you by surprise, don't judge a book by it's cover type deals. If you are in Islington I would recommend stopping by.

This place was a great find. Slightly off the beaten track near Upper Street it's definitely worth a small diversion. For starters we tried the 2 specials; Parmigiana melanzanne & King prawn with chilli and garlic. The melanzanne in particular was fantastic and probably the best I've ever eaten. Just cheesy enough and not overly greasy or oily. Onto mains and we decided to go for one of each of the Italian options. Pepperoni and artichoke pizza plus Fettuccine pasta with porcini mushrooms and truffle. The pizza that arrived was actually not what I ordered and even though they were going to replace it the pizza looked far too good to send back. Both dishes tasted fantastic and the pizza crust was just the right thickness. The house red wine tasting was a multipulciano and it £14 was incredible value for money. Just to round things off the manager brought over a free crème caramel to say sorry for the pizza mistake. This place is well worth a visit
